Rebekah

I've recently added a link to the blog of a little girl who got cancer at 3. I can't even begin to try to tell her story, but I encourage you to read about what she's been going through over the past three years and especially recently. She had been cancer free for almost 2 years and now they thing it might be back. She can use all the prayers in the world. Please say a few extra words for her, and read her story if you can find the time. She's such an amazing child, to have gone through what she has, and to still be able to be happy. She's an inspiration, and I feel like her story really should be shared. It's such a tragedy that children have to go through the things that she has, and I think that they are stories that are too often untold because they are things that people don't like to think or hear about.

Ice Cream

Tonight we took Reagan out for some long overdue ice cream. A family member gave her some money to go out for ice cream to celebrate becoming a big sister, but we didn't make it. Then she got a certificate for a free cone for her birthday, and we didn't get there then either. We were planning to take her tomorrow evening as part of our celebration of getting our new home, but there's a birthday get together for one of Rob's co-workers at a local Irish restaurant. We're going to celebrate there as a family while also celebrating the birthday. It should be fun, plus tomorrow is all you can eat fish and chips night too! Anyway, back to the ice cream story. We've taken Reagan to get ice cream twice before, but got her a cup both times. She's been all about the ice cream cones in her play kitchen, so we got her a cone this time. She did such a great job licking the ice cream! When she ran out of ice cream to lick she asked for a spoon to finish the rest that was down in the cone. It was pretty funny because she absolutely refused to eat the cone. We told her it was like a ig cookie, but she insisted she had to eat the remainder out with a spoon. Unfortunately we didn't take the camera along, so we only have pictures on our phones. I'm sure we'll get them uploaded to the computer some day! lol

Kids Update

The kids had a fun Easter. Reagan enjoyed hunting eggs around our living room, but is looking forward to next year when we will have a back yard for her to hunt in! Her favorite Easter basket fillings were a Strawberry Shortcake gardening set, and an egg full of "circles" (pennies and a gold dollar coin.) She loves to collect circles and put the in her piggy bank. We're glad that she's so enthusiastic to save. :-) Adam has been enjoying the new car seat toys the Easter bunny brought him.

Reagan has been learning so many new things recently. She loves practicing her letters, and routinely draws the letters "W" and "X." She also knows a ton of animals. It's amazing the different ones she has been learning! We're hoping to plan a trip to the zoo in Phoenix soon. She also has been working on spelling some things, including her name, cat, and emu. She chose mermaids as the theme for her new bedroom, and is very excited about it. We're hoping she stays enthusiastic about it for awhile. :-) She uses a big girl cup pretty much all the time now,

Adam is getting so big! It's amazing how fast they grow!! He can scoot across the floor on his tummy when he wants to already. He can roll over really well, and is enthusiastic about playing. He LOVES his stuffed bunny, and pretty much any small toy that he can grab on to. He loves sitting at the table with us for meals, and is very excited about his baby food. He's gobbled up pretty much everything he's been given aside from applesauce. He just isn't into apples. We got him a Bumbo a couple weeks ago, and he's really enjoying being able to sit up to interact and play.

Less Than a Week Until Closing!!!

Our close of escrow has been moved up, and we are now closing on April 1!! We can't believe we will have our house in less than a week! We won't be making the move with the furniture until the 18th, but will be moving smaller items before then. Just wanted to quickly update everyone on the house. (I'll try to post an update about the kids later. :-) )

Home Inspections

Today we had our home inspections. The good news was that the inspector had pretty much nothing to put in his report.. the house looks great! He told us he wishes they were all so easy. lol We also had our pest inspection and the only things they found were some house ants and spiders. We're looking forward to our move and have been packing up to get ready. We're hopeful that now that the inspection is done, we can close early. We'll keep everyone posted as to when we're actually making the move. If you're needing our new address, feel free to send me an email. :-)

We're Moving...

..into our own house next month! Our offer was accepted, and escrow should close on April 9th. What a wonderful anniversary present for us! We're so very excited, and feel so blessed to be able to make this move. We've even already started boxing up some of our things in anticipation. (It will take awhile to pack around the kids' schedules.)

Kids Update

I haven't posted about the kids in awhile, so here's an update!

Reagan is doing very well. She loves asking what sounds different letters make, enjoys writing some letters (W is her favorite, and best,) and can now spell the word Emu. It's amazing the things that she learns and knows. She knows more animals every day and is now learning ones like lemur, capuchin monkey, brontosaurus, stegosaurus, and Pegasus. It's so cute to hear her singing too! Today she sang a new one.. the theme song from the Elmo's World segment on Sesame Street. She's becoming so independent too.. she loves to help and do things by herself. We hear "I do it" and "Reagan do it" so often now. It's frustrating sometimes when they are things that she can't or shouldn't help with, but it's wonderful to see her growing and developing so much.

Adam will be starting to eat baby foods in just a few short weeks now! It's amazing how quickly the time goes. He's really started to enjoy playing. He will pick up and play with rattles, rolls over, and loves to smile and laugh He really enjoys time in his swing or playing on the floor.
Unfortunately he's teething now too, and has been having a really hard time of it. He's had a little fever, and runny nose, so he's be super grumpy. Plus he suddenly got diaper rash on top of all that. Poor little guy. :-( Hopefully he's feeling better soon!

Another House

We have finally found another house that we're going to make an offer on. We got the paperwork tonight, and after it's all read and signed it will go to the seller tomorrow. It's not a bank this time, so we were able to put a time limit on the offer, and have to hear back by 5pm on Friday. It's exciting to know that we will have some news about this house by the weekend. If all goes well closing would be the day after our anniversary. What a blessing of a gift that would be for us! I will be sure to update when we know anything further!
